About This Service

Everything you need to know about how we can help you.

TECA - Canada social and cultural programs aim to preserve and celebrate the unique traditions of the Twic East community, ensuring that they continue to thrive for generations to come. By providing a platform for cultural expression, learning, and connection, we work to strengthen the bonds within our community and support our members in their everyday lives. Our cultural and social activities are designed to:

Maintain Social Cohesion – We offer opportunities for members to come together, build strong relationships, and foster a sense of belonging, unity, and mutual support.
Promote Cultural Understanding– Through various cultural events and training, we aim to bridge generational and cultural gaps, ensuring that the next generation understands and appreciates their heritage.
Support in Times of Need – Whether celebrating milestones or coming together during times of bereavement, our programs provide a sense of community and solidarity.
Some of our key social and cultural activities include:

Twic-Dinka Language Training

Language is at the heart of cultural identity. Our Twi-Dinka language training programs are designed to teach both youth and adults the language of the Twi-East community, empowering them to communicate effectively while preserving their cultural roots. Through these classes, participants not only gain language skills but also connect with their heritage in a meaningful way, ensuring the language continues to be passed down to future generations.

Cultural Uniform Launchings

Our cultural uniform launchings are a celebration of the vibrant traditional attire that represents the values, history, and identity of the Twi East community. These events serve as a platform for members to highlight their pride in their culture and heritage. We believe that wearing and promoting cultural uniforms strengthens community pride and helps preserve important traditions for future generations.

Cultural Dance Celebrations and/or Bereavement

Dance is a vital aspect of our community’s cultural expression. Our cultural dance celebrations bring together members of all ages to share in the joy, rhythm, and stories passed down through generations. Whether celebrating a community milestone or honoring the memory of a loved one during bereavement, our cultural events provide a space for healing, remembrance, and communal joy. These gatherings allow our members to connect emotionally while celebrating the cultural significance of our heritage.

Community Conferences and Fundraising Events

Our community conferences and fundraising events serve as an essential part of our efforts to build a strong, thriving Twic East community in Canada. These gatherings allow us to come together to discuss key issues, share knowledge, and plan for the future of our community. Fundraising efforts play a crucial role in sustaining and expanding our programs, ensuring that we can continue to offer valuable services, educational opportunities, and cultural activities.
By participating in our conferences and events, members contribute to the growth and success of the Twic East community, while strengthening bonds and creating lasting impact.
These activities help us maintain the fabric of our community, celebrate our shared heritage, and continue to build a positive, inclusive environment where every member can thrive.
Join us in our journey to preserve and promote the beauty of the Twi East culture. Together, we create stronger connections, celebrate our roots, and pave the way for a brighter future.
